ESMA ranked 8th best animation school in the world by Animation Career Review 2022.
ESMA’s films have been selected for over 200 international festivals each year. Our students’ work has been rewarded with many prizes, including the “Best Student Project” award at SIGGRAPH for the film Je suis un Caillou, the “Film of the Year – 3D animation” award by The Rookies for the film Œil pour Œil, the “Best Art Director Award” for the film La Source des Montagnes at the Animayo! festival, and many others!

Three films awarded at the Animakid Festival 2020
Three films were awarded at the Animakid Festival in Union City:
Groovity was awarded a “Golden Olive Tree” in the “Space” category.
Familiers was awarded a “Golden Olive Tree” in the “Together it’s better” category.
1, 2, 3 Pas Soleil was awarded a “Golden Olive Tree” in the “Family” category and a “Golden Olive Tree” “Coup de Coeur” from the CMJ.
3rd prize for Œil pour Œil
The film Œil pour Œil received 3rd prize in the “Student” category at the Constantine Gold Coin Festival in Serbia.
Œil pour Œil “Film of the Year – 3D animation”
The film Œil pour Œil was voted the grand winner of the 2020 Rookies Awards competition – organised by the renowned online platform The Rookies – in the flagship category “Film of the Year – 3D animation”.
Two award-winning films at Short of the year – Winter
The films Œil pour Œil and Pour une Poignée de Caramels were both awarded the “Special Jury Mention” prize at the Short of the year – Winter festival.
Avec le Do de la Cuillère awarded at the Festival Court Mais Bon
The short film Avec le Do de la Cuillère received the Audience Award at the Festival Court Mais Bon du Puy-en-Velay.
2 award-winning films at the Movie Screen Pro festival in Los Angeles
Two films won awards at the Movie Screen Pro festival in Los Angeles. The film Skid received the “Award as the Best Student Animation” and the film Pour une Poignée de Caramels received the “Best Animation” award.
Ice Pepper receives an award at the International Nature & Environment Film Festival
The short film Ice Pepper received the “Coup de Coeur du jeune public” award at the 33rd edition of the International Nature & Environment Film Festival organized by France Nature Environnement Isère in Grenoble.
Pour une Poignée de Caramels receives an award at the Festival Films d’Animation de Tournus
The short film Pour une Poignée de Caramels was awarded at the 29th edition of the Festival Films d’Animation de Tournus. It received the “Prix Jeune”.
Pour une Poignée de Caramels receives an award at the Aniwow festival in Beijing
The short film Pour une Poignée de Caramels was awarded at the Aniwow Festival in Beijing and received the “Best Directing” award.

The two short films Œil pour Œil and Pour une Poignée de Caramels both received the first prize “3D Student Film” at Spark Animation in Vancouver.
Cach It awarded at the festival Elliott Donnelley Youth Center International Children’s FilmFest
The short film Cach It was awarded at the Elliott Donnelley Youth Center International Children’s FilmFest in the United States. He won the Best of Fest Prize.
