ESMA ranked 8th best animation school in the world by Animation Career Review 2022.
ESMA’s films have been selected for over 200 international festivals each year. Our students’ work has been rewarded with many prizes, including the “Best Student Project” award at SIGGRAPH for the film Je suis un Caillou, the “Film of the Year – 3D animation” award by The Rookies for the film Œil pour Œil, the “Best Art Director Award” for the film La Source des Montagnes at the Animayo! festival, and many others!

“Audience Choice” Award
The film Un mal pour un bien (Life Expectancy) won the Audience Choice Award at the Soul 4 Reel Festival in the USA
Schoolchildren’s Award
The film Avec le Do de la Cuillère won the schoolchildren’s prize for the best film music at the music & cinema festival – France
Awards and distinction at Athens Animfest
In Greece, the Athens Animfest awarded two prizes to our films:
- Un mal pour un bien won the 1st prize in the Student Competition category,
- Pinocchio won a distinction in the Student Competition category,
- Vandals received a special mention in the “Student Competition” category.
Awarded at the Chicago International REEL Shorts Film Festival 2022
Liyoki won the “Best Animation Drama” award at the Chicago International REEL Shorts Film Festival 2022.
“Little Imp Award”
The film I am a Pebble (Je suis un Caillou) won the Little Imp Award for International Short Film at the Indie-Lincs Film Festival
Audience Award
The film “Pour une Poignée de Caramels” (2019) won the Audience Award at Les Nuits Magiques Animation Film Festival – France.
Audience Award at Poitiers !
The film “Donjon & Cie” (2020) won the Audience Award at the Poitiers Film Festival – France. Congratulations to the team!
2 prizes for “La Source des Montagnes”
The graduation film “La Source des Montagnes” (2020) won the “Best Children Short Award” at the Sapporo Short Fest Japan, as well as the “Best Children’s Short Film” award at the Animage Festival – Brazil.
Special mention at “Plein la bobine” !
“La source des montagnes” (2020) won the special mention of the Pico jury class of the 19th edition of the Festival Plein la Bobine. Congratulations to the students!
Special mention for “Molly and her Cat”
The short film “Molly and her Cat” (2021) won a special mention at the Spark Animation Festival – Canada
Two TAF awards for ESMA!
Two films from ESMA won two separate awards at TAF (Thessaloniki Animation Festival):
– “La source des montagnes” won the “Best Film For Kid” award,
– and “Je suis un Caillou” won a special mention in the “Best Film For Kid” category.
