Meeting English-speaking students
News, School . 11 Feb. 2022
September 2021 saw the first class from Lyon submit their films to the CG Animation and FX Graduation Show. The first, of a long list to come, to join the big family of graduates. One particularity is to be noted: the presence of international students. Indeed, since its opening, ESMA Lyon has given itself an international dimension by offering an English-speaking section that can welcome students from all over the world.
A RESOLUTE OPENING TO THE WORLD
Cinema has a magical quality: it is an international language. Films or even series cross borders and cultures. The proof is in the films made by our CG Animation and FX Master Degree students that are broadcast on our Youtube channel, with viewers coming from the United States as well as Brazil, India, the Philippines, South Africa, Russia and even the whole of Europe.
It was expected that people from all countries would develop a passion for the digital image and its production and would want to enter this industry. It has been two decades since the CG Animation and FX Master Degree was offered at ESMA and over the years it has built a reputation for the quality of its work and teaching both in France and internationally. The hundreds of students trained in our schools have found their place in the biggest studios in the world and are recognised for their know-how.
In 2017, when the Lyon campus was opened, the declared aim was to turn towards the international market and to meet the expectations of these foreign students. The desire to train in a French school whose reputation and seriousness are no longer in question. Indeed, until then it was imperative to speak French fluently.
FOUR YEARS IN FRANCE, THEY TELL US
We went to meet the international students who joined this first class. They talk about their four years at ESMA LYON, the training, the relationship between French and international students. Four beautiful years and an unforgettable experience that allowed them to discover a new country while training for their passion. One thing is certain: if they had to do it again, they would do it without hesitation!
