Conference of the Electric Theater Studio
Conférences . 17 May. 2023
The final year Montpellier students of the CG Animation & FX Master Degree received three members of the Electric Theater Collective (ETC) with whom they were able to exchange information about the studio’s projects and behind-the-scenes of a scene creation.
Tasha Beddoe (talent Coordinator), Ollie Gilmour (head of Operations), and Patrick Krafft (CG Lead) of the Electric Theater Collective met with our students and gave a talk to the final year students of the 3D Animation and Special Effects Cinema Cycle in Montpellier.
ALL SCREENS ALL SCREENS
The ETC is a structure founded in 2010, an exciting and passionate young company about new ideas, creativity, specialized in visual effects. “We create visual effects for visual productions that people watch on screens. On any screen, in fact – from the smallest spy device to the largest cinema in the galaxy,” says the ETC site based in London and Los Angeles where humor finds a good place. The ETC covers all aspects of visual creativity – including CGI, 2D, animation, and color grading. Many awards have punctuated the course of this structure, “some say we are the best at what we do. But we are too nice to boast about it, of course,” notes the Electric Theater site with a pinch of humor. All of this was discussed with our students (campus presentation), projects led by the studio as well as breakdowns (behind the scenes of a scene creation). Tasha Beddoe, Ollie Gilmour, and Patrick Krafft (CG Lead) then viewed the students’ end-of-studies film projects, legitimately proud to show their production to professionals.
