ESMA student creations shine at the Mycéliades at Cinéma Diagonal
News . 07 Feb. 2025
For the Les Mycéliades festival, the Cinéma Diagonal in Montpellier is opening its doors to us on Friday 7 February at 8.15pm. This year, the theme of ‘Intelligences’ will be explored at the event, which is devoted to science fiction cinema. To mark the occasion, ESMA is showcasing the talent of its students by screening a number of their films alongside creations from CinéCréatis.
A festival that inspires ESMA students
The themes of artificial intelligence, thinking machines and forms of extraterrestrial intelligence fuel the imagination of ESMA students, who explore them in their short films. This year, they are at the heart of Les Mycéliades festival, a flagship event for science fiction fans across France.
An eclectic selection of films by ESMA and CinéCréatis
Exploring the themes of the festival, from new forms of intelligence to the influence of technology on our perception of the world, six short films made by ESMA students will be screened: Beyond The Dust, Wilson, All about Area 51, Zona, Behind the Beast and The Archivist.
Audiences will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of these creations in the presence of Lise Lett and Mallaury Labourse, former students and directors of Wilson, as well as Clément Théobald, a teacher at ESMA.
The programme will be enhanced by films from CinéCréatis, a member of the Écoles Créatives network!
