2024 Olympic Games jingles: France Télévisions calls on students
News . 04 Jun. 2024
Everyone is waiting for them with growing enthusiasm: the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games are fast approaching and France is ready to host this global event. To keep us waiting, France Télévisions will soon be broadcasting jingles dedicated to each discipline, specially created for the occasion by student members of the Réseau des Ecoles de Cinéma d’Animation (RECA), including ESMA!
RECA member schools on the alert
48 disciplines and sub-disciplines, 329 events, 11.3 million visitors expected… and 20 French animation schools! That’s the number of RECA member schools that responded to France Télévisions’ call for entries to produce the jingles representing each of the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, with the aim of promoting the excellence of the work of French animation schools.
The short films were created in accordance with very strict specifications, including the use of a single discipline – in both its Olympic and Paralympic versions – the total time of each jingle being 10 seconds, the use of a selected extract from the song J’ai deux amours, and a particular focus on parity and diversity.
Broadcasting throughout the Olympic Games
For ESMA, the 3rd year students in the Animation Film section at the Montpellier and Toulouse campuses were involved. This project was a precious opportunity for our young artists to get involved in a large-scale project, and to put their creative and technical skills to good use, under the careful supervision of their teachers, to give life to these jingles emblematic of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
You can already watch our students’ work on our Youtube channel Esma Movies, as well as on the France Télévisions website.
A huge well done to our 3rd year students, and to all the participants, who are a credit to French excellence in animated film !
