[Spotted] Super Mario Bros, the movie
News . 05 Apr. 2023
Expected by generations of fans, the most famous plumber in the world is back in a new movie: Super Mario Bros. This project is a collaboration between the Japanese Nintendo and the French studio Illumination MacGuff. Several of our former students are credited in the credits of this fantastic project!
It was in the 1980s that the Italian plumber was released on arcane terminals. The little bouncing character with a singing accent, a creation of the Japanese firm Nintendo, will face multiple creatures and will see his universe expand over the course of his adventures and the diversity of the multiple opuses released. The colorful universe and the sympathetic characters, even for the most evil of them, have conquered the hearts of gamers around the world for more than forty years.
At the beginning of the 90’s, there was a first attempt to transpose this fantastic world to the big screen, which was not as successful as expected. It was not until several years later that Nintendo began a new film adaptation project. And to make this project a reality, Nintendo turned to a major player in the sector, often recognized for the quality of its productions: the Illumination MacGuff studio. This is a great recognition for this French studio, which counts among its ranks a plethora of our former students from the CG Animation & FX Master Degree. Moreover, many of them contributed to the making of this film. Discover them!
