The beginning of the year was rich in films to which our former students contributed: Fireheart, Death on the Nile, Moonfall, Notre-Dame brûle, Uncharted or the huge blockbuster The Batman.
After two complicated years for the film world, films have resumed normal distribution. Many beautiful projects have been released at the beginning of 2022. Among these releases, former students of the CG Animation and FX Master Degree have worked on them.

fireheart
The film is the work of Laurent Zeitoun (screenwriter of Prête-moi ta main, l’Arnacoeur; producer of Intouchables, Le sens de la fête) and Theodore Ty, formerly of Disney and Dreamworks. Their desire was to highlight the struggle of women to be able to join the New York fire brigades, who obtained this right in 1982.

Synopsis
Since she was a child, Georgia Nolan has had only one ambition: to become a fireman like her father! Unfortunately, in New York in 1932, women are not allowed to practice this profession…
DEATH ON THE NILE
The famous detective Hercule Poirot returns in a new adaptation of the famous novel by the writer Agatha Christie. After The Crime of the Orient Express, this is the second adaptation of the writer’s novel for the famous director and actor Kenneth Branagh.
Synopsis
During a luxurious cruise on the Nile, what was supposed to be an idyllic honeymoon ends with the brutal death of the young bride. This crime marks the end of the holiday for detective Hercule Poirot. On board as a passenger, he is entrusted with the investigation by the ship’s captain.
Moonfall
A disaster film with a science-fiction background, this project is in line with the big-budget, disaster-type films dear to director Roland Emmerich. He wanted to offer another vision of the lunar star as well as of the end of the world.

Synopsis
A mysterious force has propelled the Moon out of its orbit and is hurtling towards the Earth. The impact will take place in a few weeks’ time and will mean the annihilation of all life on our planet. Jo Fowler, a former astronaut who works for NASA, is convinced that she has the solution to save us all, but only two people believe her: an astronaut she once knew, Brian Harper, and a conspiracy theorist, K.C. Houseman. These three unlikely heroes will attempt an impossible mission into space… and discover that our Moon is not what we think it is.
Uncharted
Adaptation of the eponymous video game, the project took more than a decade to see the light of day after multiple abandonments.

Synopsis
Nathan Drake, a cunning and intrepid thief, is recruited by veteran treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan to recover the fortune of Ferdinand Magellan, which disappeared 500 years ago. What starts out as a simple heist becomes a frantic race around the globe to get the treasure before the ruthless Moncada, who is convinced that his family is the rightful heir to the fortune. If Nathan and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they could win $5 billion and maybe even find Nathan’s long-lost brother… but they’ll have to learn to work together.
Notre-Dame brûle
In his latest feature film, filmmaker Jean-Jacques Annaud revisits the fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. It is a film that retraces the events of that tragic day and highlights the different actors who intervened.
Synopsis
Jean-Jacques Annaud’s feature film reconstructs, hour by hour, the incredible reality of the events of 15 April 2019, when the cathedral suffered the worst disaster in its history.
The Batman
The famous masked vigilante is back, for a ninth adaptation, in a darker version closer to the original comic book universe.
Synopsis
Two years of walking the streets as Batman and instilling fear in criminals has led Bruce Wayne into the heart of Gotham City’s darkness. With only a few trusted allies – Alfred Pennyworth, Lieutenant James Gordon – among the city’s corrupt network of officials and public figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance among his fellow citizens. When a killer targets Gotham’s elite in a series of sadistic schemes, a trail of cryptic clues sends the world’s greatest detective on an underworld investigation, where he encounters the likes of Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and Edward Nashton, a.k.a. the Mystery Man. As the evidence mounts and the scope of the culprit’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit and restore some semblance of justice amidst the longstanding abuse of power and corruption in Gotham City.
